Man Gets Multi-tool Tattoo!

Jimmie Rodgers is a thoughtful guy. If you want to talk to someone about meaningful tattoos you might want to talk to this guy. Jimmie Rodgers is an educator, maker, and a hacker. One day when he was traveling with his buddy he mentioned of coming up with a fun way to read resistor color codes. [So the idea first came two years ago while doing a hackerspace road trip with Mitch Altman. “I was talking to Mat Metts about fun ways to read resistor color codes.” Metts created a delightful double resistor poster. “Anyhow, as he worked on that poster, I made the first version of this tattoo in Inkscape.”] So the creating began. But making it out in Inkscape wasn't enough. Jimmie continued to create the tattoo (fifth) in code. Which takes incredible skill and knowledge. Let me break this down: The tattoo has multiple uses. First off, it an easy way to read the color coding. Second, it acts as a ruler. It is 5 inches long, which was originally suppose to be a Metric measuring but wasn't to Jimmie's liking. Third, the long and short end of each rectangle are proportioned according to the golden ratio. Jimmie Rodgers has his own blog site that shows you his creations. Plus, the guys pretty funny.
