Guess What This $4.2 Million Tree is Made Of?

Gold. You've got it! In Tokyo, a jewelry store displays their $4.2 million tree they have made custom. It twirls around in a circle and has multiple Disney characters on it. It is topped with Micky's head shape and is surrounded at the bottom with a wreath. The Tree was made by ten craftsmen, which took a stunning 2 months to complete. It contains 88 pounds of pure gold and is trimmed with beautiful gold leaf. "It was a deal." says Tomoko Ishibashi, the man who runs the Ginza Tanaka Store in downtown Tokyo. It is displayed at the entrance of the store and is is lit by numerous lights for it's beautiful glimmer to be seen.

Men Fighting for Our Freedom, Punished for Leaking Video Game Information

The Seven members of the Navy Seals Team 6 are under the impression that they have let secret information for the new game called Medal of Honor; Warfighter. Four members are being investigated. They have all been sent punitive letters of reprimand and forfeiture pay for two months. The Naval Special Warfare Command, Garry Bonelli, offered little information but did address a statement about the nonjudicial punishments. "We do not tolerate deviations from the policies that govern who we are and what we do as sailors in the United States Navy," Bonelli said. He states that they have a high standard, the punishments will "send a clear message throughout our force that we are and will be held to a high standard of accountability."

The Auto Industry Pitches In

Hurricane Sandy as everyone knows has wiped out many homes and killed people. People all across America are helping to rebuild and help families with the damage of Hurricane Sandy. Many people have contributed money to help with the destruction, and others are physically there to help with not only cleaning up, but helping families cope with loved ones who were killed during the disaster, and providing refuge for those without homes. The auto industry has also pitched in to help the victims of Sandy. Different dealers have contributed different things. Here's the lo-down: BMW, Mercedes, and Toyota have contributed one-million dollars to the American Red Cross relief and recovery efforts. Chrysler has contributed $100,000 to the American Red Cross through Ram trucks and also 20 Ram 1500 Tradesman Trucks. Fisker has open repair shops near Wilmington, Delaware to repair and fix cars that were affected in the hurricane. Ford has contributed $50,000 to the American Red Cross and Volkswagen has contributed $500,000 as well. Many people continue to pitch in help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Many of which were victims of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Issac. People are giving back to the people who had once helped them before as well.

California Shark Strikes at Surfer

Recently, a deadly shark attack has taken place yet again in Central California. Thirty-nine year old surfer went out for a ride and the shark snuck right up on him. No shark warnings were posted for the area. His friend saw him and rushed to pull him from the water. Unfortunately it was too late and his friend had already lost too much blood to sustain his body. They have decided not to release the name of the victim, due to publicity issues. LT Erik Raney, from the S.B. Police Dept., speaks about the sightings saying, " It's very well known in the area that there are sharks, and there have been sightings. There are sharks up and down the shoreline, and a lot frequently." The Santa Barbra Police Department has not identified what kind of shark it was that killed the surfer. Shark attacks are rare, but they do happen when you least expect them, and certainly without any warning.

No Internet in Syria?

In Aleppo, Syria, mysterious texts are being sent out to numerous people in the area. They do not know who is sending them, or what is. One of these texts, translated from Arabic, was "Game Over." The government believe that the people with pre-paid phones who did not receive this text, many of those who are Opposition Fighters, were told to surrender their weapons. "Those on prepaid phones -- including many opposition fighters and activists, who tend to throw their devices away after several uses to avoid detection -- did not receive the text, or subsequent messages, signed by the Syrian Arab Army, telling them to surrender their weapons." -Karen Leigh of CNN Tech. Much of the government knows that opposition fighters communicate through the use of satellites phones. The government is now in the decision to shut down satellite activity and usage to Syria. This could be a very similar event to what happened in Egypt in 2011. The focal point that the investigating is Aleppo. Service was shut down for 10 days, until it was restored September 20th. They are still investigating where these threats are coming from and why exactly they are being sent.

Introducing the Liquid Battery!

Just as you thought that innovation couldn't get better; liquid battery power. Rice University has beat scientists to the next new technology advancement. The problem with today's batteries is that they're bulky and take up much space. A couple years back scientist started researching and creating a battery form that took up less space but could hold the same charge. After many experiments and tests and trials; in 2009, they created a battery on a simple page of printer paper. They used nanotubes to store energy and generate electricity. After the announcement they predicted that printable battery power would be available to the public soon since this technology had been discovered. Today we now have a technology that can be virtually painted on any surface. The liquid battery contains lithium ion and use of a solar cell. The two created light-emitting diodes to create the word "RICE" at a steady 2.4 volts. The liquid battery lasted six hours. How is that for impressive?

Russia's Big Secret

Russia has a secret that can supply global markets for another 3,000 years right in Eastern Siberia. Forty-two years ago, Russia found the jackpot of all fortunate findings. Under a thirty-five million year old asteroid crater that has 62 mile diameter, a diamond field was found containing supposedly trillions of carats. They say that these diamonds are impact stones, created by force by the crater hitting earth and hitting a diamond deposit. Though these gems could quite well be from space inside of the rocks. They would be inside of the crater, of course, because they are the last mineral to form and crystalize. This great finding will soon have great plans because of the uniqueness. The main customers for the gems are expected to be big corporations and scientific institutions.
